Two Nabbed In Series Of Area Car, Home Burglaries

Two men were nabbed in connection with a series of alleged home and vehicle burglaries in the Town Of Poughkeepsie.

Patrick I. Singleton, 23, of the City of Poughkeepsie, and Johnny H. Johnson, 20, of the Town of Poughkeepsie, were arrested around 3:11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 11, after Town of Poughkeepsie Police received a call about a break-in, said Capt. Michael O’Dowd.

According to O'Dowd, the caller told dispatchers that two men had entered his vehicle. When officers responded to the area other residents came out and reported their vehicles and a residence and been entered and property taken.

Officers searched the area and located Singleton and Johnson. Both were taken into custody.

A Town of Poughkeepsie K-9 Unit was requested and during a search located additional evidence. 

Singleton was charged with felony burglary, and six counts of criminal possession of stolen property. He was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail on $20,000 cash/$40,000 bonds.

Johnson was charged with six counts of criminal possession of stolen property. He was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail on $10,000 cash/$20,000 bonds.
